| Isaac, the morning of his first day of all day preschool. He loved it. |
Getting ready for his first day of school, feeling a little nervous, he says "mom, something is fooling around in my tummy."
At the end of his first day of school, I asked him how it was going potty on the little toilet. He proceeds to tell me that there is a sign in the bathroom that says "big kids can't poop in the toilet. They have to wait until they get home. There are no wipes for poop here." haha and uh oh.
Isaac got a postcard from his grandparents who are taking a trip across Russia and all over Asia. Isaac spend a solid week or so with them before they left and was very sad when they left. As I read the postcard to him, he began crying and telling me that he really missed them. Then...get ready for the ultimate cuteness and aaaaaaaaawww's: "mom, when someone you really love leaves, it can break your heart."
"Dad, you have a stupid voice." (after putting Isaac in time out.)
I was singing a song to him called "Little Boxes" and one of the lines says "there's a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one...and they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same" Isaac angrily waved his finger and said "MOM! Someone needs to call that lady and tell her there's an orange one!" (his favorite color.)
Leaving my grandma's house, Isaac was faced with a decision of keeping a button he wanted to hold in my pocket, or leaving it at grandma's house (didn't want a choking hazard while we were driving since he is now putting things in his mouth, naturally, at 3 YEARS OLD waaaaaay more often than he did as an infant or early toddler. pft.) He wanted to put it in his pocket and I told him he would have to give me his pants if he insisted on keeping it in his pocket. Anyway, he was tired and sooooo upset by this. He wanted to hold it and tried and tried to get me to change my mom. Finally he said "Here's the deal mom! You have two choices. You can give me the button, or you can take off YOUR pants!" hahaha!
"I almost got hit by a car when distracted by a butterfly" Okay, A: that's not true, he did not almost get hit by a car and B: I don't know where he learned the word distracted, and how to use it in context.
We all went to the dentist last week for check-ups and Isaac immediately started wagging his finger at the hygenist and said "no no no no, I don't wanna be like Ruth. I don't want any holes in my tooth. I'm staying away from the soda shop." (there was a song on Sid the science kid @ pbskids.org that he must have listened to 3,000 times about a girl who got cavities.)
Isaac has officially joined the "pants" bandwagon. By that, I mean applying a characteristic to someone, and adding pants after it. His latest is for Sam "Mr. Chubby Pants." :-)
"Mom, our house is not very tidy right now."
Caught Isaac writing all over his arms and legs this morning with a pen. As I started my mini lecture, he quickly interjected with "Mo-om! These things I drawed on me are maps to new planetariums and new aquariums!"
Isaac has an imaginary friend named Borky. Borky is a hamster. Borky the Hamster broke the timer that tells Isaac how many minutes he needs to stay at the table and eat. (Borky has since made several more appearances when something has gone awry!)
Isaac stopped Dave in the middle of a lecture on why we shouldn't hang from kitchen drawers and said "dad, I'm unavailable for talking now and for the REST of the day!". Oi....
Sam 1 month old: Isaac to Sam today, while caressing his face "Don't worry little guy, I'm not gonna ever let anything happen to you." Be still, my heart :)
Isaac: "this waffle is shaped like a tv. Speaking of which, I think a little bit of tv will help my headache."
Stinker!
Isaac funny of the day:
Dave: "Isaac, too much computer or TV will make your brain rotten."
Isaac: "don't worry dad, tough guys don't need their frontal lobe for thinking"
FYI....Dave had used the frontal lobe in one of his ask Isaac YouTube videos this past school year....
Isaac informed us tonight that he doesn't want to live here anymore. He wants to go live at a hotel where they won't make him eat his dinner.
Isaac this morning:
"Who has the prettiest face? You do mom! Who has the reallyest handsome face? You do dad! Can someone please take me to the planetarium?"
