Holi colors!

Dave, Isaac, my mom, Julie, Tim, Tim's nephews and I went to Holi festival today in Spanish Fork.  It's a celebration of spring, but has much deeper meaning to the Krishna community.  You can read about it here, at their website. We chose to go on Sunday, because it's a big event for college students in Utah County, and since most of them are of the Mormon faith, we thought it would be less crowded on Sunday.  It probably was, but it was still pretty crowded, and there were still a lot of young'ens there!  Anyway, the video speaks for itself, as do the photos.  I would recommend going at least once, to experience it.   I would go again for sure.  When else do you get to throw stuff at strangers and have it be okay? It was messy, fun, and everyone at the festival was surprisingly well behaved!  They have an area about 100 yards away from the main area of color throwing with all sorts of animals (peacocks, llamas, zebus, etc.)  I was very impressed that with a crowd this big, and despite no signs asking people not to, nobody was dumbass enough to throw the colors all over the animals.  Well played!  Thanks for staying classy, Utah county! :)
Here are a few photos from the festival.  These photos are courtesy of mine, and Julie's cameras!

This may have been the only picture where Isaac didn't have his VERY serious face on.  He took this festival pretty seriously.

Here's that serious face.
And again, the serious face.

It's hard to see here, but Julie had a bunch of purple in her teeth.  It was awesome.  for me.

Mr. Serious

And my mom ran into some long lost friend here.  We also ran into our cousin Ryan from Logan.   Small world.

Changed my clothes before driving, but I guess I couldn't get EVERYTHING off.

The Best Things....

Some of the best things in life always happen at the zoo for us.  If you can recall, we had this fabulous experience at the zoo last summer.  Well, this one isn't as good, but it still makes me laugh.
I took Isaac to the zoo yesterday.  We went into the primate building and it was fairly quiet, but there were a small group of people (about 4 adults, and 2 or 3 kids between the ages of 3 and 5) watching a pretty active gorilla who was right up by the glass.
Isaac was pretty entertained, the gorilla was putting a sack on his head, and rolling around.  After a minute of this, the gorilla turned to the side, giving us a profile shot of his entire body.  He then cupped his hand, put it under his behind, and took a massive turd in his hand.  He then looked at the contents of his hand, and used the other hand to start eating his poop like popcorn.  Totally gross.  I was surprised that everyone was just quietly staring (some with their mouths agape.)  Suddenly Isaac blurts out "What just happened gowiwa!? (gorilla)"  He totally broke the silence, and the other kids started in with  EW's! and GROSSes!   Another good day at the zoo...

Mister Silly Pants

Because I am a slacker, and don't keep a cute little journal  (well I STARTED one, but am horrible at writing in it) of awesome things Isaac says and does, I figured if I document it on here, it exists, right?  Some of them I stole from my facebook status...where they disappear into an eternal abyss.

-Isaac telling another kid how to play with the blocks:  "Stack it up boy-o!  Stack it up!"

-Driving, listening to Isaac in his carseat: "Isaac Bala!  Dada Bala!  Mom Bala!  I like 'em, love 'em, too!"  The last few days he's been adding "Day-Z Bala.  Abbie Bala."
-Isaac will run around naked at any cost, but the minute he has to go to the time out chair (for totally unrelated incidents,) the conversation goes:

Isaac: mom and dad. pants. please.

Me: (from the other room) Isaac, why do you need pants?
...
Isaac: cold legs. keep warm.

Me: wait until the timer beeps (1 minute of sheer agony for the boy.)

Timer beeps.

Me: Isaac, let's get your pants on.

Isaac: no thanks, silly.
-Isaac is summarizing at a third grade level, I tell ya! (that was sarcastic, I'm really not one of THOSE parents,) Isaac watched  this 15 minute episode of Roary, The Race Car, about 3 weeks ago.  The other day, out of the blue....
Isaac:  Roary.  Sad.
Me:  Why is Roary sad?
Isaac:  Lost lucky teddy.  Sad.
Me:  Then what happened?
Isaac:  Molecom find it.  Give Roary.  Thanks Molecom!  Roary, happy.
-Dave took Isaac to see a mock trial at school while I was in my Wednesday night ESL endorsement classes (which are over in 2 months! HOORAY!)  Dave had told Isaac on the way that they needed to be quiet, and just watch and listen.
They sat down near the back, and immediately Isaac starts blurting out "watchin'!  listenin!  watchin! listenin'!"
-My parents have taught Isaac to say "winkenstein hausenblauser"  spelling?  Anyway, if you see Isaac in person anytime soon, ask him to say it because it's hilarious and adorable.
-Isaac's obsessed with watching this video on youtube...from like 1936.  It's a video of Mickey and Pluto at Pluto's birthday party.  But the funny thing is, it's in Portugese.  There is this part where Pluto is flung into the air, and Mickey looks up, shakes his finger at Pluto in the air, and loudly exclaims, IN PORTUGESE "Pluto, Chegar aqui!"  And Isaac LAUGHS and LAUGHS at this part EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  Then Isaac says "Mudo (pluto) get down here!"   It's great.
He's the best!
Here's Isaac, laughing to "Mudo."  I just want to eat him up!

Here are some recent photos:
He's usually pretty happy, but there is no shortage of temper tantrums around here.  They look something like this:
I took Isaac to the Safe Kids Fair a week or so ago with my friend Leigh and her girl, Isabelle.  Isaac and Izzy are about 4 months apart.

Isaac was in heaven riding in firetrucks, buses, mini police cars, etc.

Isaac loved this little car.  They had them on sale for half off (so it was $30.)  With his b'day coming up, I decided to get him one.  They were out of orange, his favorite color.  So pink it is.  haha.  Seriously, though.  He loves pink and who am I to deny the boy his other favorite color?  I'm sure soon he'll be "too cool" to love pink anymore, so for now, he gets a pink car.

This boy loves to memorize what we read to him and try to read "by myself!"
Snuggling with Lorax, Walter and Giraffe.  We do this every night before bed.
I'll be so bummed when he won't do this with my anymore.  Love cuddle time!
