Stats:
Antsy Pants level: 7. I am getting a little ahead of myself, I'm not even 12 weeks til Saturday. You don't technically start your third trimester til you are officially 13 weeks, but somehow being out of my first trimester sounds glorious, even though it's just an arbitrary number, really.
Anxiety Level: 3. Well, I don't have my second prenatal appt. with my midwife until next Friday, so I am a little anxious to make sure everything is still going well. I'd probably be more anxious if I didn't still feel extremely pregnant. I am still sick (though it's waning just a little,) and my belly is most certainly growing. I can especially tell because when I sleep, it's getting less comfortable to sleep full on my stomach (boo! but YAY for proof of a growing baby!)
Big Brother cuteness factor: 10! He is still so interested in the baby. He has named the fetus "Baby McGee" with no prompting other than us asking him for a name. He keeps telling us what kind of big brother he will be. Among his priorities are: holding the baby, hugging it, feeding it, teaching it, being silly with it, and playing with it. Each morning, he asks "mom, how is baby McGee doing?" He listens to my belly and tells me what "he's" saying. He is QUITE insistent still that Baby McGee is a boy. He really does not like us to challenge this. I guess we'll cross that bridge only if we have to. I guess about 6-8 weeks from now?
Comparisons: Aside from the obvious size difference in my belly, this pregnancy is overall very similar to my last. With Isaac, I had some weird persistent shoulder pain during trimester 1, as well as my skin had turned bright red around my mouth, chin, under my nose for about 2 or 3 months with Isaac. It looked like a goatee with no hair! Not gonna lie, I have been praising the good Lord that didn't happen this time. This time, I have been much more dizzy than I was with Schumpert (our fetus name for Isaac.) Luckily, it's starting to wane a bit. I was pretty majorly sick until about week 16 with Schumpert. I am still sick with Baby Mcgee, but am finding that while I am fairly sick about half of the time, the other half of the time it's hardly noticeable. So I hope this is a sign that it's going to go away (or at least feel much less noticeable) when it should (12 weeks!?) I didn't feel 100% better (nausea wise) with Isaac until I was 26 weeks pregnant with Isaac! Yikes, finger crossed!
I want to post a photo of the serious size difference from pregnancy 1 to 2, but discovered that I don't really have a good shot until I was about 16 weeks preg. with Isaac. So in a few weeks we shall make a comparison!
Finally: I fully realize that reading about someone else's pregnancy isn't that exciting in the blogging world (well, for most people...I actually love reading about pregnancies of those I know,) but I am doing it for myself. When I thought back about my first pregnancy, I wish I'd written more so I could go back and read it in the future...
